A case study of the CCTV at the “Concert for Valor” in the United States that saw Metallica and Rihanna among others perform.
The first “Concert for Valor” was held in the centre of Washington DC on Veterans’ Day, November 11. Several hundred thousand spectators at the National Mall heard Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Eminem, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood and others. For public safety at such a large event, various camera systems were deployed, including the Panomera multifocal sensor from Dallmeier. The system was installed by the German manufacturer with its partner Total Recall, a control centre installer and video network designer.
Peter Millius of Total Recall says: “With the new technology in the Panomera® cameras from Dallmeier, you can monitor the crowd as a whole, and at the same time zoom in to view specific details in the event of an incident.”
During the concert, images were viewed in a truck at the site by various police and government agencies. Joe McDevitt of Dallmeier USA says: “This exercise has once again proven the performance capability of multifocal sensor technology particularly for large expanses. The feedback from the police and government agencies regarding the picture quality was thoroughly positive.”
