Thermal bullet camera

by Mark Rowe

The TCX Bullet is the thermal camera from FLIR. Offered with 480 or 320 resolution, the bullet camera with built-in video motion detection (VMD) offers intrusion detection and visual alarm verification in one device, the makers say. The firm says that its thermal cameras let users see clearly in complete darkness without any illumination, in bright sunlight, through smoke, dust or even light fog, for reduction in false alarms.

According to the US-based firm, the product outperforms passive infra-red, microwave, shakers, and other traditional intrusion detection sensors by providing visual verification; and outperforms comparably priced visual cameras at night, in low-contrast areas, in challenging lighting, or inclement weather, it’s claimed.
