Tower on award shortlist

by Mark Rowe

VPS Site Security’s JCB Smart Tower has been shortlisted in the British Construction Industry (BCI) Awards for product innovation.

The tower CCTV product has been designed for protecting construction sites and remote, challenging locations, able to cope with the changing dynamics of a building site.

Anthony Owen, VPS Site Security’s Managing Director, pictured, said: “The advanced CCTV tilt-and-zoom cameras work in all lights and are incredibly detailed in the quality of the video they capture. The JCB Smart Towers can be stand-alone, requiring no external power source, installed in any location, no matter how remote or challenging, and can be moved, added to or reduced in capacity according to the dynamics of a site.

“In addition the JCB Smart Towers provide monitoring services for site managers who can remotely view operations and works progress on another part of the site direct and in real time on their tablet or PC. Highly capable, lower-cost, low carbon technological options are fast changing the guarding solutions for protecting construction sites.”

Organised by The New Civil Engineer, (NCE), and dubbed as the industry ‘Oscars’, the 2015 awards winners will be announced at the BCI Awards on Wednesday, October 14 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

VPS Site Security says that the towers have been put into use at projects from highway improvement schemes to solar farm construction.
