Videcon at IFSEC 2016

by Mark Rowe

The trade-only security distributor, Videcon Ltd, at IFSEC 2016 exhibited new cameras for low-light uses without the need for infra-red (IR) illumination.

The distributor hailed its attendance at IFSEC, where it introduced the latest Concept Pro surveillance products. As a part of the company’s 21st year of trading, Videcon released a number updates and additions to its in-house brand of CCTV products, Concept Pro. Showcased at IFSEC 2016 were:

AIR range

The redesigned AIR range of weatherproof bullet models offers a new, modern and professional looking housing design that can replace older AIR models without having to re-drill walls to install. Using Advanced Infrared (AIR) technology, available in all Concept Pro infrared products, the all new AIR cameras have enhanced infrared distances that range from 20m as a minimum to 80m. AIR provides smooth infrared illumination by tracking the proximity and movement of objects, adjusting infrared levels that illuminate a scene. AIR cameras are available in 4MP IP and 1080p AHD4 models.

AHD4 All-in-One Analogue Cameras

The updated AHD4 ARC and redesigned AIR range are now compatible with high-definition analogue CCTV platforms, allowing installers to use one camera on any analogue recording device they choose. AHD4 cameras are switchable between 1080p AHD and TVI platforms as well as delivering 600TVL resolution images on traditional analogue systems.

Light Finder
Available in the Concept Pro CVP9324 and CVP9324DNIR external dome and CVP9328DNIR eyeball camera, the ‘Light Finder’ technology provides colour image quality in low-light conditions by building up the ambient light of the scene. Using a Sony IMX CMOS sensor with 1/50~1/100,000sec digital slow shutter, Light Finder cameras can deliver quality colour images that keep the details that are sometimes lost when recording mono infrared footage.

Motorised zoom

A selection of new IP and All-in-One ARC and AIR models will feature motorised zoom lenses with auto-focus. Like IP cameras use CAT5 & CAT6 cable, AHD4 All-in-One cameras can utilise the same coax cable to deliver video and telemetry data to control the lens, thanks to the ‘Coaxitron’ protocol.

Concept Pro Public Viewing Monitor Range

Available in eight, 10 and 22 inch versions, the Concept Pro Public Viewing Monitors can be used as a replacement camera for an IP surveillance system with its integrated 1080p camera. The monitors can display live video footage to serve as a visual deterrent or alternatively stream advertising media via SD card – making the range suitable the firm says for retailers of all sizes.

The Enado AV Distribution System

As a growth opportunity for security installers, the Enado AV distribution system is a ‘Smart Home’ product that takes advantage of an installer’s knowledge of IP CCTV. Using a web-based IP server connected to a HD video matrix, Enado can control up to four AV devices such as Satellite TV boxes, Games Consoles, Blu-Ray players and CCTV systems on up to four HD monitors or TVs in a building. Enado’s web based design means the system is available on any smartphone, tablet or computer, with no fees needed to pay for multiple app licences or updates.
