Fujitsu deal

by Mark Rowe

A multi-million pound security contract with Fujitsu, the UK and Irish IT company, has been retained by the facilities management contractor Mitie.

Over the next three years, Mitie’s total security management business will provide integrated services including security personnel, key holding, alarm response and mobile patrols. The FM contract firm will also provide remote monitoring via a dedicated pod at Mitec, Mitie’s technology centre in Northern Ireland, pictured. This will monitor over 40 of Fujitsu’s UK locations, including head offices, data centres and satellite locations.

Bob Forsyth, managing director of Mitie’s total security management business, said: “We are delighted to build on the long standing relationship we have had with Fujitsu over the past three years. Becoming a trusted and innovative partner to Fujitsu has been key to providing an innovative offering. We look forward to continuing to protect the firm from asset theft, as well as data theft and breaches. ”

And David Wallis, head of security at Fujitsu added: “Mitie’s continued commitment to innovation and service improvement is what makes working with the company so special. Protecting our customers’ data and reputations is paramount to our business.”
