Titled ‘Scotland: Secure for Business’, the event at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Tuesday, October 23 will inform local businesses about security trends. Organised by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and delivered with the support of Scottish Enterprise, the event is open to business people of all backgrounds in the public and private sectors. Speakers for the conference have been confirmed as:

Dr Nick Bland, Head of Scottish Government’s Police Reform Delivery Unit, speaking about fire and police reform across Scotland and its impact on Scottish business.

David Sadler, Head of Games Services at Glasgow 2014, discussing the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the opportunities for local businesses.

Keith McDevitt, Cyber Security Integrator at Scottish Government, speaking on cyber security.

Chief Superintendent Ellie Bird MBA BA FRAS, Area Commander for Scotland in British Transport Police, discussing transport security.

Delegates will have chance to pose questions to each speaker.

Ross White, Senior Executive – Aerospace, Defence and Marine at Scottish Enterprise, says: “This one-day security-focused event is aimed at providing businesses with the latest information and guidance on planning for the impact of a multitude of security challenges, including cyber crime.”

Willie Clark, Scottish Representative at the BSIA, adds: “This event is completely free to attend, and as such, is an unmissable opportunity for Scottish businesses to learn more about the security market, allowing them to gain a better insight into the risks and opportunities that they themselves face.”

Scottish-based businesses that would benefit from advice and guidance on business security and planning for the Commonwealth Games can register to attend the free conference and exhibition, by completing this online delegate registration form .
