Canon sales deal with Axis

by Mark Rowe

The manufacturers Canon Inc, and Axis Communications AB have agreed that in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and North America, Axis will take charge of marketing and sales of Canon’s network video products. That’s starting in EMEA from September 1, and in North America from October 1. In the Japanese market, Canon Marketing Japan will continue to sell Canon’s network video products; and will partner with Axis, using its sales network to sell Axis products to customers in Japan.

Canon Europe and Canon USA will become the sole providers of Canon network video products and solutions to Axis in the EMEA and North American markets. As for the rest of the Asia-Pacific region, Canon says it continues to explore options.

With the network camera market continuing to show enormous potential, the firms say, Canon acquired Axis as part of the Canon Group in April 2015. They report that both companies have discussed various options. This new sales and marketing framework provides an effective means of maximising the synergies of Canon-Axis the firms say.
