H.265 products added

by Mark Rowe

After announcing their H.265/HEVC surveillance products at the end of 2015, VIVOTEK are adding ten new H.265/HEVC surveillance products.

They are: three Full HD long distance infra-red speed dome cameras with the firm’s VAIR (Vari-Angle IR) technology, three outdoor Full HD speed dome network cameras, two 5-Megapixel fisheye network cameras; and two network video recorders. The Taiwanese firm says that this enables the company to diversify into vertical markets. By employing H.265 compression and using the company’s Smart Stream II technology, these cameras can reduce bandwidth and storage consumption by up to 80 per cent it is claimed while retaining image quality.

Outdoor domes

The three new IR speed dome cameras all come with 20x/30x optical zoom lens and VAIR (Vari-Angle IR), which automatically adjusts the infra-red angle of the IR illuminators (up to 250m), allowing a broad field of view, longer distance and uniform IR lighting, the makers say.

And three more H.265 outdoor speed domes come with 20x/ 30x optical zoom lens, featured with WDR Pro (for wide dynamic range), IP68, IK10 and NEMA 4X housing, for day and night protection.

5MP Fisheyes

These two fisheye cameras deliver panoramic views with 5-Megapixel CMOS sensors, and add WDR Pro to enhance coverage in areas of contrasting light. The H.265 fisheye camera FE9381-EHV is fully EN50155 compliant, with IK10 and IP66-rated housing, for withstanding shock, vibration, humidity, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

Network recorders

VIVOTEK also introduces two H.265 compatible NVRs, the 64-channel NR9681, and 32-channel NR9581. Both support H.265 video compression, RAID and up to 48TB storage capacity with eight hard disk trays, offering 30pc to 50pc more recording capacity compared to other similar systems using H.264 compression it is claimed. A de-warping function enables a panoramic image to be recorded while areas of interest are displayed in detail. All the firm’s H.265 network cameras and network video recorders work with its video management software, VAST Version 1.11. Visit www.vivotek.com.
