VIVOTEK has launched the compact, day and night network camera IP8336W, the company’s first wireless camera for outdoor applications. With a glossy housing, the camera is described as suitable for high-end residential, boutique store, department store, or museum use.
With a 1-Megapixel CMOS sensor enabling 1280 x 800 resolution video at 30 fps and a removable IR-cut filter, the camera can capture video under changing lighting around the clock, the makers say. The built-in IR illuminators cover up to 5m.
The product comes with a weather-proof IP66-rated housing, protecting the camera from rain and dust. With integrated 802.11b/g/n wireless, IP8336W offers video streaming where network cabling may not be feasible. With the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) feature, configuration is over a wireless network connection. The camera supports real-time H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG triple codec compression. The video size can be reduced and network bandwidth conserved without it is claimed sacrificing image quality. With ST7501 multi-lingual 32-channel recording software, a user can set up an IP system.
Steve Ma, VIVOTEK’s Executive VP, said: “We are pleased to present our first outdoor wireless camera, the IP8336W. For years, we have listened to the market and understood customers’ needs. This time, by taking into consideration of the advancement and popularity of wireless technology, VIVOTEK has developed the IP8336W with a stylish look and many advanced features, not only meeting the market needs, but also strengthening our overall product portfolio. IP8336W, without a doubt, is the ideal camera for outdoor wireless surveillance.”
