Detection range

by Mark Rowe

Luminite have added the ASTRA portable paging system to their security detection range. Aimed at reducing costs for manned guarding companies, the pager, pictured, transmitter connects to Luminite’s masthead receiver over RS232 which in turn links to the Genesis wireless passive infra-red (PIR) detectors and Boundary Shield infra-red beams.

Each detector can be named using alpha numeric codes which the transmitter will send to the pocket pagers allowing for a rapid response. Graham Creek, Managing Director of Luminite said: ‘Combining wireless PIR detection with a more informative paging system will enable man-guard sites to work intelligently and effectively by pin-pointing areas of concern, leading to a rapid response and reduced costs.’

Luminite offers detection products covering PIR detectors (hard wired and wireless), active infra-red beams and security cameras.
