About this role

We’re looking for Campus Support Officers to join our dedicated Campus Support team and help us deliver an exceptional student-centred, security and support service to our university community.

 

You will play a key role in keeping our students, staff, visitors and facilities safe. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll provide a prompt, calm and boundaried first response to incidents and enquiries.

 

You will provide a responsive security presence across our campuses, operate control room systems, and act as a friendly, visible ambassador for the University, helpful first point of contact.

 

About you

You take pride in delivering a prompt, safe and clearly boundaried first response, ensuring that everyone you engage with feels respected. You are skilled at balancing empathy with professionalism. You understand when to take action, when to provide support, and when to escalate appropriately.

 

What we’re looking for

– A good standard of general education or relevant security experience in a large organisation

– Full UK Driving Licence

– First Aid at Work (or willingness to train)

– Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, including moving unaided across varied terrain

– Understanding of fire evacuation procedures and health & safety guidance

 

Where you will be working

In this role, you’ll be required to work across all of our campuses, this role is based on campus for all your time.

The post is a permanent appointment working 12 hour day/night shifts which are: 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. Due to the shift patterns and the need to ensure 24/7 cover at each campus and outer sites, it is not possible for this post to be a job share opportunity.

This is a full -time, permanent post. The salary and allowances shown above are for 40 hours per week however the post is an average of 42 hours per week, therefore this post attracts 2 hours time off in lieu (TOIL) per week which is pre-programmed into your leave allowance.
