Technical Systems Designer – Electronic Security
– Location: Southern England | Home – Hybrid
– Package: £50,000 + Company Car/Allowance | Flexibility DOE
Zitko is recruiting for a Technical Systems Designer to join a growing Utilities division, supporting the design and delivery of electronic security systems across critical national infrastructure and regulated utility sites.
This hybrid role will cover the South, predominantly Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, combining home working with regular customer/site visits.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for surveying, designing and pricing electronic security solutions, predominantly across CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Detection and PIDS, with occasional Fire Alarm requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site surveys and identifying technical/security requirements
- Designing compliant integrated electronic security solutions
- Producing specifications, schematics, layouts, costings and technical proposals
- Creating drawings using AutoCAD, Visio, Bluebeam or similar
- Supporting bids/tenders with designs and technical estimates
- Working closely with customers, Project Managers and Engineering teams
- Taking technical ownership from initial survey through to handover
About You
You’ll have experience designing electronic security systems within commercial, industrial, infrastructure or similarly complex environments, alongside a good understanding of CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and IP networking.
Experience within Utilities/CNI, BIM, Fire design or tendering would be advantageous but isn’t essential. You’ll need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable travelling across the region.
