The next in the free to attend Security TWENTY series of exhibitions around the British Isles is in on the red side of Manchester, at the Old Trafford home of Manchester United FC. ST26 Manchester will run on Wednesday, July 8.
Apart from the regular room of exhibitors, Professional Security Magazine is running an innovation stage, of 15 minute speakers. Installers will be there; and Skills for Security, to talk about how apprenticeships can (as featured in the May edition of the magazine) be a neat way to bring on new blood into your business; and solve a chronic talent shortage in the sector. No matter what football club you support, or even if you are not a sports fan, you may like to take up our offer of a free, one-hour guided tour of the stadium, which takes you behind the scenes. Do you want to sit where Michael Carrick the manager sits on a match day, or Mason Mount, Luke Shaw and all in the dressing room? Now’s your chance.
The event offers free car parking, and opens at 11am and winds up around 3pm. In between you can enjoy bacon butties (if you arrive for the start) and a hot buffet lunch; and tea, coffee and snacks. Drop in, to suit your schedule – we appreciate that you may well not be able to spare all day, for anything that’s not your core work. That said, we’ve started offering CPD (continued professional development) points for attending ST, if you collect them for Security Institute membership, CSyP status (Chartered Security Professional) or other reasons.
Register
While you can come on the day without registering if you are free at the last minute, we would ask that you register online beforehand – it helps us gauge numbers for catering purposes. Email magazine MD Roy Cooper at [email protected], or visit the ST part of the magazine website.
Women in Security
Meanwhile, July 18 is the deadline for entries to five categories of the Women in Security annual awards. That will give the judges time to make their decisions before all is revealed at the presentation night at Shakespeare’s Underglobe on London’s South Bank. ST Glasgow
Glasgow was the third of our five ST events of 2026, that included a golf day, won by John MacAskill of the BSIA trade body.
