The adventure holiday firm PGL has become the first to be certified under the new British Stanadrds BSI PAS 5222: Safeguarding In Out Of School Settings standard. This comes after an audit by Bramah HR.
The BSI PAS 5222 standard provides a framework for organisations to prevent abuse and ensure the well-being of vulnerable individuals. It sets out best practices for safeguarding measures that protect individuals from harm, abuse, and neglect. As the auditing body, Bramah HR assessed PGL’s policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements outlined by the standard.
Mark Bramah, Director of Safeguarding & People Operations at Bramah HR, said: “PGL has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the rigorous safeguarding audit. The certification marks a significant step forward for the industry in adopting safeguarding measures as a core business priority.” Bramah HR reviewed PGL’s safeguarding policies, risk management strategies, and employee training.
He added: “We encourage more organisations to follow PGL’s lead and adopt the BSI PAS 5222 standard to prioritize safeguarding within their operations. Our goal at Bramah HR is to promote the highest standards of protection across all sectors, and PGL’s achievement is an important milestone in this journey.”
