Biometrics company TSSI, have made a partnership with South American firm, Top Data, for biometrics technology to help employers eradicate ?buddying?, or the mis-use of time cards.
Swindon-based TSSI has been working with Top Data, of Curitiba in Brazil, to produce a verification system, which links a time card to its owner, by checking their fingerprints. The new product is based on TSSI?s VERID fingerprint verification system, which can store a person?s unique fingerprint template in a two dimensional bar code printed on an identity card. Top Data integrates TSSI?s core components into their time and attendance terminal branded ?Inner Verid? to provide a single unit. These terminals examine the person?s fingerprint and compare it with the stored information on the card to confirm their identity. TSSI Marketing Director, Ed White says: ?Many traditional clocking-in systems are open to fraud. The use of biometrics to provide quick and accurate confirmation of identity will ensure the correct information is fed through to payroll systems.? The new time and attendance monitoring units were launched at the recent Exposec exhibition in Sao Paulo. Top Data have supplied InnerVerid to schools and factories across Brazil and are already winning contracts to supply time and attendance into banks and telecommunications companies.
