JANAF Plc, based in Zagreb, Croatia, is managing an oil pipeline system, as a crude oil transportation system for local and foreign users.
Janaf has adopted, via integrator Tehnozavod Marusic kd, a project for video-monitoring a pipeline streching from Serbian border to the Adriatic sea.
Tehnozavod has designed and implemented an IP based system, teaming up with CCTV manufacturer Videotec. The first tranche of five was realized on Adriatic sea and has 100 fixed IP cameras installed into Videotec HOV camera housings, Videotec IR300 infrared illuminators and 14 Videotec Ulisse positioning units, with built-in Sony block camera, remotely controlled by video servers.
Some of the problems encountered from Tehnozavod, designing the system, is the summer heat and the famous local wind, bora.
The problems has been solved with Videotec HOV housings, it is claimed: thanks to its cooling system it reduces the internal enclosure temperature.
On the other hand, the Ulisse positioning unit withstands statically 200km/h to wind and operationally in 160km/h wind conditions, then bora is not a problem, the makers add.
Igor Benko, Project Manager at Tehnozavod, said: "This is definitely a challenging project for us: the total system will be over 500 IP controlled fixed cameras and additional 100 PTZ cameras, stretching from two borders of our country. This is probably the largest Croatian installation."
