IFSEC 2007 runs a little later in May next year – from May 21 to 24 2007 at the NEC in Birmingham.
IFSEC 2006 hosted more than 700 security suppliers launching and saw thousands of the products and services. Organisers report that exhibitors were keen to rebook their stands, resulting in almost 60pc of next yearโs show being booked before the doors were closed on IFSEC 2006 on May 11.
What they say
James Blue, event director, said: โThe success of the event was clear for all to see, with exhibitors reporting a real buzz around all areas of the show. An industryโs health is often judged by the success of its main event and if IFSEC is anything to go by then the security industry is clearly going from strength to strength.โ Organisers point to the introduction of new areas such as the Security Guarding Pavilion, Fire Solutions Area and International Media Village that ran alongside established areas including CCTV Village, Intruder Alarms Village, Security Solutions and Network Advantage.
Industry awards
Once again, the IFSEC security industry awards were on the first, Monday evening of the show at the nearby Hilton Metropole Hotel. For the first time, people were recognised for the work that they do within the security industry with Stuart Lowden from Wilson James winning the industry award for leadership and David Dickinson of the BSIA winning the industry personality of the year award.
