London Initiative

by Msecadm4921

ISNR London, the security and national resilience exhibition, to be staged at Olympia on 2 and 3 December, is launching an initiative that will focus on all security challenges facing London’s businesses and infrastructure.

Mounted with the support of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI), ‘The Secure London Initiative’ seeks to provide a forum for security professionals across all business sectors.

Taking the security of London as an international model for proficient security and resilience practices, ‘The Secure London Initiative’ will have its own area on the exhibition floor, with case studies detailing the latest approaches and best practice.

As one of the world’s largest capital cities, London has a record of having to both plan for and face a range of security and resilience challenges. Over the last few decades the city has had to deal with not just terrorist attacks but actual incidents carried out by the IRA and, more recently, Islamic extremists. In addition to this, the spectre of pandemics such as bird flu, flooding due to climate change and international cyber crime have also been on the city’s security agenda in recent times.

ISNR London’s event director, Richard Clarke, said: ‘Although our event has a truly international appeal, we couldn’t think of a better city to spotlight as an example of how to plan and prepare for a range of security issues than London itself. We believe ‘The Secure London Initiative’ will be a popular extra attraction to visitors planning to visit the exhibition and conference as well as a great opportunity for solution providers to gain more visibility by supporting and sponsoring this initiative.’

The LCCI works to keep its members focused on taking the right steps to ensure their businesses are secure and can continue to function should the worst happen. Lending its support to ‘The Secure London Initiative’, Stuart Webster, Marketing Manager for the London Chamber of Commerce said: ‘We are delighted to support this event. We have had a defence and security sector for many years and welcome the opportunity for an exhibition in London aimed directly at that sector. It is a great opportunity for networking and raising the profile of companies within this sector."
