Network Seminars

IIPSEC 2003 – the Internet Protocol security industry exhibition – has unveiled a programme of free seminars.

IIPSEC 2003 – the Internet Protocol security industry exhibition – has unveiled a programme of free seminars. (Visit www.iipsec.com) The 90-minute sessions between January 28 and 30 range from a basic run through digital networks, what they can do, and with what equipment, to mixing analogue and digital, remote monitoring by e-surveillance, training needs, data protection, recording and archiving issues, and case studies involving CCTV and access control. Event organiser Kevin Fagan argues that a cloud of fear has engulfed the traditional security equipment supply and installation industry, namely a fear of the unknown such as Internet Protocol, network cameras, servers and boxes with no co-ax connectors. He says: ?As time progressed and more and more product was entering the market the confusion appeared to get worse and although one would expect a convergence between the network and security technologies, the reverse appeared to be happening; the manufacturers were struggling to sell the technology and the industry struggled to understand it. Hence IIPSEC 2003, at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham. The aim is to bring under one roof manufacturers, distributors, service providers and software houses to demonstrate and discuss various issues to do with use of networks.
