RUSI Conference

by msecadm4921

How to ‘harden’ infrastructure against terrorist and other attack is among the topics at the fourth annual science and technology for homeland security and resilience conference.

It’s on June 25 and 26 at the Royal United Services Institute, Whitehall, London. Speakers on ‘hardening’ are Dr Joseph Gaiva Kappia, Research Fellow, Civil & Building Engineering Department, Loughborough University; and Darius Aibara & Colin Morison, Assistant Directors, Explosion Effects Group, at consultancy TPS Consulting. Organisers RUSI say the conference will examine the key progressions of Government Counter-Terrorist Science and Innovation policies and technology developments in this and other areas of homeland security. The two days are key for those involved with the development, procurement or policy of security technologies.

An assessment of the first year of the Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism’s Science and Innovation efforts is by Stephen Smith, Director, Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism, Home Office; and Sir David Omand, Vice Chairman, RUSI.
