CCTV product firm Vigilant Technology reports the extension for a further year of its non-exclusive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) agreement for the US market with US firm Pelco.
The agreement continues Vigilant’s relationship with Pelco which dates back to 2000. Until the end of 2004, Pelco was Vigilant’s exclusive distributor in the US and, over the last five years, has sold about US$40m of Vigilant’s equipment in the US at Pelco’s selling prices.
In September 2004, Vigilant signed a new non-exclusive agreement with Pelco whereby Pelco continued to sell Vigilant’s products in the US under its own brand name. Over the last year, Vigilant has also begun to build a direct sales team and develop a number of additional strategic relationships in the US with key systems integrators and end-users. In the six months to June 2005, the relationship with Pelco accounted for about 40pc of Vigilant’s sales, the firm reports.
One of Pelco’s more high profile installations was securing the Republican National Convention in New York City (NYC) in August 2004, ahead of the US presidential elections. Vigilant’s digital recorder, the main product sold by Pelco, was the central element of this integrated video surveillance network, set up all across NYC.
What they say
Moshit Yaffe-Blushinksy, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are very pleased to announce the extention of our agreement with Pelco which continues our long and successful relationship with Pelco in the US market dating back to 2000. We are currently working together on a number of high profile US projects. We believe this new agreement puts us in an excellent position to capitalise further on the growing demand in the US for "intelligent" security and surveillance solutions, against the backdrop of rising terrorism and security concerns."
