Infosec defence date

by Mark Rowe

Organisers of the annual UK information security conference and exhibition Infosecurity Europe have launched a technical research conference ‘Infosecurity Intelligent Defence’. It’s to run on June 2 and 3, 2015, in London, alongside Infosecurity Europe. The two-day conference will be at Olympia London with direct access to Infosecurity Europe. Its focus: the research into vulnerabilities and exploits and sharing insight into how to defend against them.

Its advisory council of industry luminaries supporting the event and curating the content, consists of:

· Dr. Eric Cole, Chief Scientist, Secure Anchor Consulting; Fellow, SANS Institute and Infosecurity Europe 2014 Hall of Fame Inductee;
· Trey Ford, Global Security Strategist at Rapid7;
· Rik Ferguson, Global VP Security Research at Trend Micro, Infosecurity Europe 2011 Hall of Fame Inductee; and
· Jack Daniel, Strategist at Tenable Network Security.

Rik Ferguson said: “The Infosecurity Intelligent Defence technical research conference is a really exciting development from the team responsible for the hugely successful Infosecurity Europe and global Infosecurity event series. The conference takes advantage of the timing and attendance of Infosecurity Europe to bring together even more of the technical people who make up the backbone of any successful information security team. I am excited to be a part of this event and firmly believe that its focus on meaningful content, practical demonstrations and never-before-seen research will appeal to a whole new audience and help us get one step closer to all speaking the same security language.”

Dr Eric Cole said: “Everyone likes talking about the problem with cybersecurity but no-one else in Europe is addressing the solutions. I am very excited to be involved with the Infosecurity Intelligent Defence that is going to cover defensive technical solutions that actually work and help focus on making the world a more secure place”.

Jack Daniel said: “I’m excited to be part of the team working on Infosecurity Intelligent Defence and look forward to the in-depth technical content it will showcase.”

And Trey Ford said: “It’s an honour to serve on the advisory council for Infosecurity Intelligent Defence 2015. The team has a strong desire to highlight emerging research and bring increasingly technical content to the event. Infosecurity Intelligent Defence will feature the greatest minds behind the latest developments in information security and bring together technical security practitioners including security researchers, pen-testers, application developers, security architects, security engineers, cryptographers, analysts, programmers and anyone with an in-depth interest in the latest technical developments of information security.

The call for papers will be open from Wednesday, December 17 until Thursday, February 12, 2015. Visit: http://www.infosecurityeurope.com/intelligentdefence.
