Shop Direct Group has selected a Cloud platform, to help audit its supply chain. The retailer hops to more easily manage its partner network and see better its partners’ security compliance.
The UK online and home shopping retailer depends on some 800 third party partners who provide services from logistics to call centres, finance and manufacturing. Shop Direct wants to be sure its partners have security in place to protect customers’ personal data. Yet the systems for assessing third party risk have been manual. A compliance team emailed spreadsheet-based questionnaires to each partner and the resulting data had to be collated manually; and was not easily analysed. The whole process was cumbersome, tied up auditor time with admin, and did not offer a way to compare the relative risks around data security iat partners.
Shop Direct turned to SureCloud for help. By transferring processes and providing centralised risk-based reporting via its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform SureCloud has helped the retailer develop centrally-managed and more automated vendor risk management. The questionnaire has been re-designed to avoid repetition. Because partner responses are captured centrally, Shop Direct can track the compliance status of partners in real-time via a dashboard that allows risk profiles to be compared at a glance.
