Access controller

by Mark Rowe

Suprema, the access control and biometric security product company, has launched a new two-door access controller, CoreStation 20(CS-20), and Door Interface(DI-24) module for two-door and four-reader. The South Korean firm says that this has expanded its ACU (Access Control Unit) portfolio. Those products are designed to support building access control systems that can adapt to a range of operational requirements, from small facilities to large-scale enterprises, the company says.

Its flagship controller CoreStation(CS-40) supports biometric matching suitable for high-level security, according to the firm. CoreStation 20 is a compact radio frequency, RFID-only controller, supporting up to 500,000 users and offering native PoE+ (power over Ethernet) support and encrypted communication. The new Door Interface module is designed to simplify wiring and operate even without a live network connection.

The ACU products can support centralized systems for large-scale sites and distributed architectures for smaller facilities with simplified connection structures. This enables the deployment of access systems tailored to various settings, and allows upgrades of legacy infrastructure through cable re-use, and gives streamlined maintenance, the makers add.

Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc, said: โ€œThe launch of CoreStation 20 and Door Interface has further strengthens the scalability and flexibility of Supremaโ€™s access control system. These additions enable system designs tailored to a wide range of customer environments, while reducing installation costs, reinforcing security through encrypted communication, and ensuring stable operation, even during unexpected events such as power outages. Moving forward, Suprema aims to help customers operate their systems with greater confidence and expects these advancements to further strengthen the brandโ€™s reliability in the global market.โ€
