Aperio IP upgrade

by Mark Rowe

ASSA ABLOY Access Control has upgraded Aperio’s wireless hub technology to aid wireless communications with any access control system. The product enables the wireless integration of mechanical locks into access control systems, as a security upgrade, with it is claimed minimal modification to doors and premises.

The new IP communications hub connects up to eight separate doors, linking each to the electronic access control system via a TCP / IP interface.

Damian Marsh, ASSA ABLOY Access Control UK Managing Director says: “The Aperio hubs ability to communicate on a much faster scale with Aperio cylinders or escutcheons is great news, as the Aperio solution now becomes even simpler to install with greater flexibility to upgrade the controllability and security level of any premises.

“The new Aperio IP Communications Hub will be of significant interest to OEMs and system integrators working with IP-based systems in access control CCTV and similar areas, looking to solve costly and time-consuming key control problems for their customers.”

The upgraded hubs follows developments in RFID, which means the makres say that the product can connect with almost any online access control system in the market. The makers add that Aperio has been designed to work with a range of lockcases and cylinders. Visit www.assaabloy.co.uk/accesscontrol.
