Control panel

by Mark Rowe

A new control panel from Pyronix combines features of the Enforcer 32WE and Enforcer HomeControl+ panels. The Enforcer V10 comes with the same programming menus and the same range of Pyronix peripherals.

The Enforcer V10 panel (software version 10 and above) comes with a DIGI-WIFI module for free as standard. Other communication options, including PSTN (DIGI-1200) are sold separately. With the module, you can connect through PyronixCloud and HomeControl+, which means the product firm says that installers can generate recurring revenue streams, as an up-sell. Instead of having to choose from either the Enforcer 32WE or the Enforcer HomeControl+ panels, now you only need to pick the V10.

Rather than having to choose the panel based on the communication capability, the new panel can be fitted with any communication option. If users change their minds, or the network signalling or internet capability of an area changes, you switch the V10 to another communication method. The panel updates its own programming menu to suit. Voice messages can be sent and received from the control panel to and from a landline or mobile telephone number. This feature is for users who don’t own smart phones or prefer voice commands over apps or text messaging. By using IP the panel offers faster connection speeds for UDL remote maintenance. If you opt to purchase the DigiAir Connected WiFi module from CSL DualCom, you can also connect to a local Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) for the security system, for key holding. Pyronix add that they have also simplified the ordering.

Pyronix says that PSTN is becoming an outdated method of communication, compared with smart devices, smart apps and push notifications.
