Hanwha Techwin at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

Hanwha Techwin has announced that the theme for its stand at IFSEC International 2016 is ‘A Bright and Secure Future’.

Bob (HY) Hwang Ph.D., Managing Director, Hanwha Techwin Europe, explains the thinking behind the theme. “This is a very exciting time for Hanwha Techwin. We have a clear view on the future direction of our company and the results of our ongoing investment will be seen at IFSEC 2016 with the introduction of a large number of new, exciting video solutions. Many of these new products incorporate innovative features which are unique to Hanwha Techwin and they truly deliver value and real-life practical benefits to ensure our customers have a bright and secure future.

“We will be highlighting how, in partnership with specialist analytics developers who are taking advantage of our WiseNet cameras’ Open Platform capabilities, we are helping installers and systems integrators to generate new revenue streams, whilst assisting end-users to achieve maximum value from their video surveillance systems.”

Vertical market solutions

Visitors to stand G800 will see that it has been divided into various vertical market zones, such as banking, city surveillance retail and transport. Each zone will offer hands-on interactive displays that identify how Smart Security Manager Enterprise, Hanwha Techwin’s new one-stop video management software platform, works with the best combination of cameras, recording devices and analytics software, to meet the requirements of projects.

New products and technologies

Hanwha Techwin will be rolling out 60 new cameras and nine new NVRs during 2016 with the key products and technologies on show at IFSEC including:

•SSM – video management software that provides complete control of cameras, recording devices and servers, whilst facilitating integration with third party systems such as intruder alarms and Access Control.

•WiseStream – Unique to Hanwha Techwin, WiseStream is a complementary compression technology which dynamically controls encoding, balancing quality and compression according to movement in the image. When WiseStream is combined with H.265 compression, bandwidth efficiency can be improved by up to 75pc it is claimed compared to current H.264.

•Wisenet Q 4MP and 2MP and Wisenet P 4K cameras, pictured, featuring H.265 compression and WiseStream which places the new cameras amongst the most bandwidth friendly cameras available.

•WiseNet HD+ cameras and DVRs that deliver 1080p Full HD images over coax cable. These are designed to appeal to end-users who want to be able to capture and record Full HD 1080p images, but are not yet ready to migrate from analogue to IP network based video.

•Out-of-box solutions – WiseNet Access (ANPR), People Counting and Heatmap cameras, each of which are supplied pre-loaded with specialist applications that can be put to work out of the box. By pre-loading applications which have been fully tested and evaluated, Hanwha Techwin is looking to save installers, systems integrators and users, time and effort in having to research the list of available apps.

Secure Room solution

Visitors to stand G800 will also be able to learn more about the technology partnership established between Oxehealth and Hanwha Techwin. The partnership has resulted in the two companies working closely together to develop an innovative camera based health monitoring system for secure rooms. This will present police, mental health institutions and prisons with the opportunity to remotely measure the movement, heart rate and breathing of detainees and patients.

Bob (HY) Hwang Ph.D said: “This is the first time we are attending IFSEC under our new name of Hanwha Techwin, and so we will be demonstrating how the Hanwha Group has Re-Invested in our security division, allowing our R&D teams to Re-Invent new technologies incorporated into 60 new cameras, 9 new NVR’s and 10 new SSM software packages. The result and clear direction has Re-Ignited the Hanwha Techwin team to provide A Bright and Secure Future for our customers.”

IFSEC International 2016 runs from June 21 to 23, at EXCEL London.
