Updated speed gate

by Mark Rowe

The manufacturer Gunnebo Entrance Control has released AFL 3.6 series. It’s the latest version of its AFL speed gate, as used in pre-security and self-boarding zones at airports.

According to the makers, AFL 3.6 introduces design updates intended to align the product visually with the company’s broader airport products, while leaving the functionality of the AFL 3.5 intact. AFL 3.6 can integrate with a range of identity and verification systems, including Bar Coded Boarding Pass (BCBP) readers, QR code and passport scanners, and biometric recognition. The new model features a reworked front section, and a minimalistic linear LED way-finding system. The aim, say the developers, is a sleek design, to blend with its surrounds.

Alberto Fiorazzo, Product Manager at Gunnebo Entrance Control said: “This isn’t about changing what works. The AFL 3.6 is a response to the visual and architectural direction we see in terminals worldwide. It keeps everything our customers rely on and updates the aesthetic to reflect that context, streamlining passenger flow and maintaining secure zone transitions.”
