The British Security Awards on Wednesday, July 3 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, organised by the trade body the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), celebrate the achievements, acts of bravery and innovations by BSIA members and prospective members in the security systems and guarding services sectors.
The security and fire sectors inspectorate NSI was sponsor of the Apprentice of the Year Award for the sixth consecutive year. This yearโs winner, Terry McJimpsey of Securigroup, was recognised for his commitment to learning, professional development, and customer service excellence from his initial apprenticeship to his current role as Operations Centre Supervisor.
Some 19 NSI-approved companies were on the shortlist as finalists and put forward 80 nominations. These NSI-approved companies and their people were among the winners in the following 13 categories:

โข Contribution to Industry: Shaun Kennedy โ Securitas UK.
Ken Meanwell, retired Lincolnshire Police man and staff officer for the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC) Security Systems Group received the Chairmanโs Award, and James Goodram of the Post Office was given the Industry Bravery Award – to a standing ovation.
