IPSA chair

by Mark Rowe

The industry body the International Professional Security Association (IPSA) has appointed David Fullerton as chair. David, pictured, has been serving in an interim capacity since July 2025, taking over from John Lambert.

As founder and CEO of Professional Security, set up in 2005 (no relation to Professional Security Magazine), David has grown the business into a £70m-plus, Top 20UK security company through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. While the Leeds-based company has long been based in hospitality security, it’s been looking to go into other fields.
David is a advocate for men’s mental health. He is the founder of the ‘No Guard Alone’ campaign and an ambassador of Tough to Talk, a UK charity working to reducing male suicide.
Satia Rai, CEO, IPSA, said: “I want to extend my sincere thanks to David for his outstanding service and unwavering commitment. His contributions have been nothing short of remarkable, and he now stands as one of our longest-serving Directors. We look forward to working with David as we move IPSA on to the next level on behalf of its members.”
David Fullerton said: I am honoured to have been voted on to the Board as permanent Chair after four months in an interim capacity. We are truly blessed to have such an incredible and diverse team of security professionals who simply want to give back to an industry that has been kind to them – no egos – just big hearts and a passion to drive positive change.  I am really looking forward to chairing such a dynamic and passionate team of individuals committed to both representing our members and consolidating IPSA not only as the oldest trade association in our sector but the most forward thinking and inclusive.”
