After its first meeting with Home Office Security Minister Dan Jarvis at the International Security Expo at London Olympia on October 1, the Security Industry Authority (SIA), and the Home Office, the newly set-up S12 Security Guarding Leadership Group (pictured upstairs at Olympia) has opened an industry-wide consultation.
The group is featured in the October edition of Professional Security magazine besides an interview with the group’s chair and organiser this year, Paul Evans, chief exec of Carlisle Support Services. It seeks to identify the key priorities that will shape its agenda and future workstreams.
The S12 is inviting security people, businesses, clients, and stakeholders from across the guarding sector to share their views on what they view as the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The group says that collective input will play a crucial role in determining which workstreams should be prioritised, so that the group’s focus is on delivering meaningful impact for the sector and wider public.
To contribute your views and help shape the direction of the S12’s work, you should complete the consultation survey: https://form.jotform.com/252754994168069.
The consultation survey will remain open until 3pm on Wednesday, October 15. Once closed, the S12 will meet on October 17, to analyse the results, confirm the final workstreams, and appoint an S12 member to lead each one. These workstreams and their objectives will then be presented by the S12 Chair to the minister on October 21.
After, the appointed leads will begin direct engagement with the industry to set up working groups that will support progress on each workstream’s objectives. The confirmed workstreams will be formally announced to the industry and stakeholders by October 24., the S12 adds.
