A Ministry of Defence (MoD) five-year contract for ‘In-Service Support of Internal Communication Systems’ across the Royal Navy’s ships has gone to TIS. The Nottinghamshire-based firm will provide supply and manufacture, repair, post-design support, and core services for internal communication systems. This includes Internal Communications, CCTV, PABX (Private Automatic Branch Exchange, or a private telephone network ), and Flight Deck Communications.
Air Commodore Pete Saul, Head of Command and Control, Targeting, Navigation and Communications at DE&S, said: “This contract for the in-service support of internal communication systems is vital for ensuring the Navy’s fleets remain at the cutting edge of operational readiness. TIS reports that it has over four decades of experience working with the Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force, for installing and maintaining security, surveillance, and communications systems.
