Interviews

September issue

by Mark Rowe

There’s a topical back to school air to the September issue of our monthly Professional Security. We report on the official opening of the University of Leeds’ security office and answer; why have they had to move 100 yards down the road, only four years after the last official opening of their office and control room (that we reported on in 2009)? The short answer is – it’s the fault of the students. For the full answer, and details of how the university looks after a campus the size of a small town, read on! Pictured is the plaque inside the new Security building on the edge of Leeds city centre.

Among the articles, besides the usual name to a face page, case studies, pages for installers and networked security, and new products; a round-up of the recent Home Office announcement that the SIA will licence private investigators, from as early as next year. Also; a report on Lord’s cricket ground; and event security; and the legacy of London 2012 – will it be translated into government-backed exports? And free with the September issue as always, our camera and dome supplement.
