ANPR Order

by msecadm4921

The British Transport Police (BTP) have given a £285,000 ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) order

Use of ANPR is to assist the police force in improving security measures on the UK transport network. The order involves the installation of Talon ANPR systems, made by Appian Technology plc, at a number of railway stations.

Appian Chairman Pat Ryan said: “In addition to our recent contract win for a number of UK Ports, this order strengthens our position in and provides further confirmation of our status as a key security supplier to this sector. There is a rising focus on transport infrastructure security and the need to ‘deter and detect’ both terrorist and criminal activity. Our ANPR system is increasingly being chosen for mission critical security and counter terrorist applications due to its accuracy, competitive pricing and through its endorsement by UK police forces.”
