Mid Suffolk Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) are working on an agricultural crime reduction campaign that involves visiting every farm within Mid Suffolk during the next month. The aim of the campaign is to reduce rural and agricultural crime by building links with the farming community, gathering intelligence and offering crime prevention advice….
During the visits officers will be handing out packs containing a farm security guide, details of security products, an invitation to join our Police Direct Farmwatch and Horsewatch schemes, and other handy advice sheets.
Free fluorescent vehicle stickers will also be distributed which will read โรรฒPolice stop and check me if you see me on the road between 7pm and 7amโรรด with the National Farmers Union and Suffolk Police logos.
Mid Suffolk Crime Reduction Officer for Suffolk Police Georgi Hawkes said: โรรบFarms in rural areas can be vulnerable to crime, often involving the theft of agricultural and plant equipment, scrap metal and fuel.
โรรบWe aim to do all we can to support our local farmers and help them avoid becoming the victims of such crimes. Through this campaign, we hope to be able to improve our intelligence network and ability to share information with the farming community, as well as passing on a comprehensive guide to making farms more secure.โรรน
