Distributor Gardiner Security has switched from bureau services to an in-house payroll system.
The firm chose Payrite from Rutherford Webb to administer its two monthly payrolls for 400 staff. The company selected the Payrite system to provide more flexibility for its payroll processes and for its management reports, the firm says.
Payrite was also chosen by Gardiner over other payroll products for its ability to interface with the companyโs Kerridge accounting system. The company says it wanted a payroll package that could enable them to import and export payroll data into Excel spreadsheets to provide comprehensive management reports, outlining details by area and region. A diary facility within the system also enables key items such as bonuses and overtime to be flagged for action on certain dates as part of the payroll process.
What they say
Adrian Connell, Finance Director at Gardiner Security, says: "Increasingly we found our bureau system had deadlines that were becoming restrictive. Bringing the system in-house gives us more control and flexibility in producing our payslips. Researching the market, we found that Payrite met 99pc of our criteria – and we anticipate a return on our investment within just two years. One of the myths of payroll bureau services is that it saves the company time โ we did not save time because you still have to prepare and send the data to the bureau. For Gardiner Security we prefer to maintain the flexibility that having an in-house system gives."
