The contractor Carlisle Support Services has appointed David Brook as Head of Operational Training. The Luton-based company points out that it’s removed the use of subcontracted labour across security and events operations for over a year, to improve consistency in quality and service delivery.
David’s role will be to develop accredited courses that diversify the contract firm’s service offering and raise training standards in security and facilities management. Among his accolades are the Points of Light Award, presented by Prime Minister David Cameron in July 2014, the Keith Webb Award from the University of Huddersfield in 2009, and the Duke of York Community Initiative Award, presented by HRH The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, in 2007.

Having held education and training positions within major UK security firms, David has developed a range of training tailored to industry needs. At Carlisle, he will head the creation of courses. Planned training include certifications in First Aid, Spectator Safety, Customer Service, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and a suite of Specialist and SIA (Security Industry Authority) courses. Meanwhile, David is also working towards his Doctorate in Education at Huddersfield, focusing on counter-terrorism policy interventions and their impact upon public safety and security education.
