Access Control

Switch for readers

by Mark Rowe

The RX Switch from access control reader manufacturer Third Millennium is designed to work with the RX Series of access control card readers and will separate multiple card technologies into individual data feeds for independent access control systems within a multi-tenanted site, the product firm says.

The RX readers and switch can be installed at the buildings turnstiles and the various tenant card technologies are filtered and then sent to the corresponding tenant access control system.

UK designed and made, the switch and readers support a variety of output formats allowing it to be used in most access control uses, the Pontypool-based developers say, providing a platform to give the right user interface configuration. If more than four outputs are required, up to four switches may be stacked to provide a maximum system capacity of 16 tenant systems.
