The makers call it a purpose-built solution designed to address the needs of retail. The AI pack provides retailers with tools to optimise their operations and deliver customer experience, according to the firm.
The AI Pack can identify people and shopping trolleys in real time, allowing managers to monitor store activity. Shopping trolley detection helps retailers in identifying groups, such as families, where one trolley is shared among several people, providing more accurate retail performance analysis.
A people counting feature, including gender classification, can provide retailers with insights into customer demographics, enabling data-driven decision-making to refine marketing and in-store layouts. Queue management tracks queues for people and shopping trolleys, automatically notifying managers when set thresholds are reached. This enables responses, such as deploying extra staff and cashiers, to reduce wait times. And the AIA-C01RET product offers heatmap analysis. By visualising customer movement and shopping trolley usage patterns, store operators can identify high-traffic zones, adjust product placement, and refine store layouts.
In terms of safety, one example of its use is for detecting abandoned trolleys in car parks. That feature can reduce theft, by detecting when a person tries to exit a store with a trolley through an entrance instead of the designated exit. The pack detects blocked exits, towards compliance with standards and preventing fines by alerting staff to obstructions to an emergency exit. It also includes slip-and-fall detection, which provides operators with notifications of falls by shoppers, reducing liability risks. And the AI can identify missing fire extinguishers. It can also detect unusual behaviours, such as loitering or unauthorised door use. By triggering alarms and notifications in real time, the system helps store managers maintain a secure and efficient site.
