TAZAAR has launched its GeoTag DIN Rail. The asset tracking product debuts at the PLASA Show at Kensington Olympia, London of audio-visual products for events from September 7 to 9.
The rugged GPS tracker bolts onto generators, power units, and heavy industrial equipment. The product firm says it’s for the protection of equipment in open areas without a permanent security presence. GPS means that users in the touring, rental and live event sector will always know that their power supplies are in the right place. The near real-time GPS location tracking works even in remote locations, v a satellites, cell towers, or wi-fi without relying on proximity to smartphones or consumer networks. This can be managed and remotely configured to update tracking intervals or geo-fencing remotely via the GeoTag platform.
The tracker is described as weather-resistant, tamper-resistant and shock-tolerant. Its battery is charged via the host product and will use its own battery when on stand-by. This gives it a standard runtime of ten days with tracking at ten-minute intervals. Modular DIN Rail Battery add-ons can provide customisation of back-up battery life and the ability to extend or reduce battery life based on job requirements.
For asset management, a live dashboard will allow users to visualise the location, movement history and asset groupings. A ‘movement alerts’ feature will allow users to receive alerts for unauthorised movement while the virtual security fences set location boundaries and trigger security alerts if crossed.
Made in the UK, the tracker is integrated with the product firm’s AssetID platform, meaning it offers product lifecycle visibility and traceability via a Digital Product Passport. TAZAAR Co-Founder and CEO, Lisa Stafford is speaking about the EU passport at the show. This integrates asset history, ownership changes, maintenance records and environmental data, helping companies meet compliance standards and sustainability goals.
