After a welcome address from a senior member of the university’s leadership team, and Simon Hepburn, CEO of the Security Institute:

A presentation by Dr David BaMaung, Chair of the Insider Risk SIG and Honorary Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University, alongside Irene Mains, Head of the Department for People and Organisations at the university. They will present their research advocating for a holistic approach to managing insider risk, focusing on ’employee vulnerability’ rather than the traditional ‘insider threat’ perspective.
Insights from Gary Stephen, Head of Security at the University of Glasgow, and 2025-27 chair of the campus security managers’ association Aucso, addressing the risks faced by academic institutions, including the theft of intellectual property and critical technological advancements by hostile entities.
A session featuring experts from a UK government department, including Kate Davies OBE, Senior Security Advisor at the Department for International Trade, discussing behavioural science perspectives on insider threats and sharing strategies to mitigate such risks.
A keynote by Neil Basu QPM, retired Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service and former Head of Counter Terrorism Policing in the UK, who will share insights from his experience in the police anti-corruption unit.

To conclude; a panel discussion, moderated by Sarah Austerberry, Vice Chair of the Institute. The event is sponsored by the Glasgow-based security firm SecuriGroup and Glasgow Caledonian University.
