SUMMARY

The NATO Office of Security (NOS) is responsible for the security of NATO Headquarters (HQ) in Brussels, its personnel, information, physical assets, and for the protection of the Secretary General.

The Inspector – Team Leader supervises all the activities of the NATO Headquarters Security Force (HQSF) and leads the whole on-duty security team composing of senior agents, agents and external contractors. The incumbent ensures tasks are correctly carried out in accordance with established standards, processes and trainings, for the continuous and effective protection of NATO Headquarters.  

This position requires flexibility to work in a shift system outside of normal working hours including weekends, holidays, and nights sometimes at a short notice and to be deployed abroad on missions as and when required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

The incumbent must:

  • possess an educational qualification equivalent to higher secondary level;
  • have at least 6 years of experience as a Team Leader of a security or police/military/security force, with middle management responsibilities, in a multi-cultural environment;
  • be experienced in the use of firearms and less-lethal force equipment and be able to pass regular (min. annually) shooting tests and annual physical and medical tests;
  • demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; and
  • possess the following minimum levels of NATO’s official languages: (English/French): V (“Advanced”) in one; III (“Intermediate”) in the other.
