Key Account Manager – Fire & Security
Location: South of England (Field-Based / Remote)
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 Basic + Car Allowance + Uncapped Commission
The Opportunity
We are working with a leading Fire & Security business that is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to manage and develop a well-established portfolio of custodial sector clients across the South of England.
This is a unique opportunity for a commercially minded Fire & Security professional to inherit a portfolio of existing accounts and focus on relationship management, account growth, system upgrades, compliance projects, and additional service opportunities.
The role offers significant earning potential through an attractive uncapped commission structure and would suit someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships whilst identifying and delivering commercial growth opportunities.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of custodial and secure-environment clients, acting as the primary commercial contact across multiple sites.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and developing existing customer relationshipsIdentifying opportunities for additional services, upgrades and project workConducting site visits, surveys and client reviewsProducing quotations and solution proposalsDeveloping account growth plans and revenue strategiesMaintaining a healthy sales pipeline and accurate forecastsWorking closely with operational and technical teams to ensure successful project deliverySupporting tender submissions and commercial proposalsBuilding strong relationships with estates, facilities, procurement and operational stakeholders
This is a field-based role covering sites across the South of England, with a typical split of approximately three days visiting customers and two days working remotely.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong Fire & Security background who combines technical understanding with excellent commercial and relationship-building skills.
You will ideally have experience in:
Fire Detection SystemsCCTVAccess ControlElectronic Security SystemsCompliance and Life Safety SolutionsTechnical sales, account management or business development

Essential RequirementsMinimum three years’ experience within Fire & Security sales, account management or business developmentStrong commercial and negotiation skillsAbility to build relationships with senior stakeholdersExperience identifying and developing growth opportunities within existing accountsGood understanding of technical Fire & Security solutionsExperience carrying out surveys, quotations or solution designFull UK driving licenceAbility to pass security clearance requirements
Desirable ExperienceCustodial, prison, government, defence or other regulated environmentsFire Industry Association (FIA) qualificationsExperience designing Fire & Security systemsPublic sector or framework contract experience
