Senior Facade Engineer | £50,000 – £70,000 DOE | Colchester / Hybrid
The Opportunity
Our client is a highly regarded multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a growing and respected Facade Engineering team. Due to continued project success and increasing demand, they are looking to appoint a Senior Facade Engineer to support the delivery of innovative and technically challenging projects across a diverse range of sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facade professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, working closely with architects and design teams, and delivering technically robust solutions that balance performance, compliance, and architectural intent.

The Role
As a Senior Facade Engineer, you will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, working across all RIBA stages from concept design through to construction support and completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering facade engineering services across all RIBA work stages.
- Undertaking facade performance assessments, detailed engineering analysis, and compliance reviews.
- Supporting procurement activities and providing technical input during construction phases.
- Using advanced modelling and analytical tools to evaluate facade performance.
- Collaborating closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Attending client meetings and design workshops, providing specialist technical advice and guidance.
- Supporting the preparation of proposals, fee submissions, and business development activities where appropriate.
- Keeping abreast of evolving facade regulations, industry standards, and best practice guidance.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong technical foundation in facade engineering and experience delivering projects through both design and construction stages.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience within facade engineering, covering both design and construction phases.
- Strong understanding of facade systems, performance requirements, building regulations, and compliance standards.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution, or actively working towards chartership.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working across a variety of building sectors and project types.
- Knowledge of EWS1 assessments, cladding regulations, and facade compliance processes.
- Experience supporting bids, proposals, or wider business development activities.
- Involvement in facade inspections, remediation projects, or post-Grenfell building safety programmes.
