BBC scam series

by Mark Rowe

Fraud detectives are to the small screen on Monday mornings as the stars of a BBC One TV series on insurance scams. The third series of ‘Claimed and Shamed’ follows the City of London Police’s Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) as it tackles organised and opportunistic insurance fraud in England and Wales.

Over ten episodes viewers get an insight into the specialist unit’s investigations as its detectives and financial investigators execute warrants, arrest suspects and seize evidence. Viewers also get updates on the IFED cases featured in the previous two series, screened in 2012 and 2013, which saw more than a million people tune in each day.

Watch series three Claimed and Shamed on BBC One at 11am weekdays from Monday 9 to Friday 20 June 2014 or, if you’re at work, catch up later on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC says that series two of Claimed and Shamed is expected to be re-broadcast on BBC One weekdays from Monday, June 23 to Friday, July 4.
