The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has published a new Access Control Systems Handbook and Logbook for Installed systems.
The publication is the Worcester-based trade association says a tool to accompany the installation of an access control system, providing guidance and aiding customers in its management.
"Access control systems can bring a host of benefits to a company, including crime prevention and essential security and management facilities. Providing comprehensive information to customers on their access control system is a vital point of any installer’s service," says BSIA Technical and Membership Services Director, Alex Carmichael. "The BSIA Access Control Handbook and Logbook is both a comprehensive reference tool and maintenance record that can be referred to at any time, providing crucial after-sales support."
The publication contains guidance for customers on the management of their system including the following:
? An overview of system management responsibilities including the nominated person’s duties, maintenance and servicing requirements, and the customer’s legal obligations.
? Access Control system service record – where details of maintenance checks and any corrective repairs can be recorded.
? Temporary disconnection record.
? Details of relevant standards and legislation.
