Vigilant Vision, security equipment suppliers, launched a new day/night mini dome camera.
The new Vigilant Vision mini dome features a unique camera ball that eliminates the need for a gimble-style mechanism for mounting the camera. A magnetic mount is used that enables the lens to be turned to any position โ as soon as the installer lets go, the unit is firmly anchored in position. Because there are no screws required, this eliminates the need for lock-down adjustments and ensures that the camera is correctly set up every time. Should a different lens or CCD specification be required, it is a simple process to drop in a new camera ball without having to replace the whole unit.
Images of up to 560 TVL can be captured using a one-third inch Sony Super HAD II CCD and a high quality 3.3-12mm aspherical lens with a 10:1 optical zoom. The dome also features ten IR LEDs that switch on automatically in low light conditions when the camera switches to black and white mode with a range of up to 20 metres. The new surface mounted mini dome camera is IP66 rated for external use and has a polycarbonate dome making it vandal-proof for use in any environment. The base has been designed to speed up the installation process and separates from the camera unit enabling it to be used as a template. It offers a range of fixing options for ceilings and walls. The camera can also be used without the base when required for flush mount installations.
