Suprema, the South Korean access security product manufacturer, has announced an integration with Verkada, the cloud-based physical security product firm.
Suprema’s access control AI edge device – BioStation 3, pictured, featuring AI-powered facial authentication – now integrates with Verkada Access Control. This enables users to use facial authentication to lock and unlock doors. This uses Suprema’s open cloud integration platform, CLUe, and Verkada’s library of API endpoints. The companies add that CLUe (as used for example by fitness centres, and shared and multi-branch offices) eliminates the need for on-premise servers by leveraging native cloud architecture and standard REST APIs. The firms point to the demand for integrated security systems that simplify customer workflows.
Suprema says that it plans to expand its range of biometric products to work more broadly with Verkada’s ecosystem. Hanchul Kim, CEO of Suprema Inc, said: “Bringing Suprema’s advanced biometric capabilities together with Verkada’s robust access control ecosystem will add tremendous value to our shared customers. The seamless integration through CLUe demonstrates our commitment to delivering Suprema’s premium devices to cloud-based security systems.”
