A wireless mains-powered fire detector — FireProtect 2 AC (Heat/Smoke/CO) — from product manufacturer Ajax Systems has been named runner-up in the category Fire Safety Solution of the Year at the London Construction Awards 2025.
Aaron Scott, Country Manager UK at Ajax said: “Being recognised at the London Construction Awards is a proud moment for us. This achievement reflects the trust of our partners and the value our solutions bring to modern construction projects — from safety to user experience and long-term reliability. We remain committed to helping the UK’s construction professionals deliver smarter, safer, and more connected buildings.”
FireProtect 2 AC (Heat/Smoke/CO), pictured, is a detector designed for residential fire safety. Its smoke chamber requires no regular cleaning, while software minimises false alarms. The dual-spectrum sensor can tell apart smoke from steam, and two thermistors react to the burning of synthetic materials. A carbon monoxide sensor triggers an alarm before the concentration reaches a dangerous level. As for installation, the detector comes with a mounting panel with WAGO 221 connectors and intuitive in-app settings.
