C•CURE 9000, lock integration

by Mark Rowe

The recently established technology partnership between ASSA ABLOY and Tyco Security Products has resulted in the integration of Aperio wireless locks with the C•CURE 9000 security and event management system.

This means Aperio wireless locks communicate with C•CURE 9000 via iSTAR Ultra door controllers and so provide the flexibility to expand an access control system to cover virtually almost every opening the companies say.

With no need for extra wiring, Aperio locks can be added to a system with little or no operational disruption, the product firms says, as a link between iSTAR Ultra door controllers and an Aperio wireless hub enables Aperio locks to communicate with C▪CURE 9000. Online transactions mean that C▪CURE 9000 is updated in real-time, so users can control and view door activity, while AES 128-bit encryption offers data security.

Rafael Schrijvers, Access Control Product Marketing Manager, EMEA for Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls, said: “This is a great example of two leading manufactures within the security sector, both expert in their respective fields, working closely together for the benefit of our mutual customers. C•CURE 9000 and Aperio wireless locks are increasingly being specified to work together on a wide range of security projects. The deep level of integration achieved between the two technologies will ensure systems integrators will now find it much easier to implement a combined solution.”

A similar integration has been achieved between Aperio and Tyco Security Products’ Kantech Entrapass and CEM AC2000 access control software.
